October 23, 2007

Today we got up at 6:30 am to make it out to the YWCA. Unfortunately, all I wrote in my diary was “off to YWCA” and now forgot what we did. Sorry.

Notes:
* On the ride we saw a “plastic Maasai,” kind of a “rhinestone cowboy.” The Maasai generally don’t leave the village, so non-Maasai dress up in their traditional clothing pretending to be them. The man we saw was about a foot shorter and fifty pounds heavier than a Maasai.

* Said mentioned that Tanzania is more favorable to its people since only Tanzanians can buy land – foreigners must rent it. Most of Kenya’s wealth is owned by foreigners.
